A Beginner’s Guide to Exercise

There’s no denying it – exercise is a critical component for anyone who wants to lose weight. Not only is exercise important for weight loss, but there are tons of other health benefits such as reduced depression and anxiety, lower cholesterol, and reduced risk of heart disease. But let’s face it, exercise can be rough, especially for those that are just getting started or have physical ailments that prevent a high impact/intensity workout. The good news is that exercise can be fun and easy if you know where to start.

One great, low impact, no-sweat exercise is swimming. You can swim laps, join a swim class, or create your own pool workout. With Ankle and Wrist Swim Weights you can add resistance to your workout and take it up a notch.

But not everyone has access to a pool 24/7/365, right? Another great (and affordable!) workout is brisk walking. Taking a walk in the evening or in the morning can be a relaxing way to connect with yourself and get your workout in at the same time. Or simply increasing your daily steps (shoot for 10,000) by tracking them with a pedometer is a great way to exercise.

But there’s nothing quite like the comfort of home when you want to let loose and work out, right? There are a number of GREAT at home workouts that allow you to workout whenever you want, in the privacy of your own home. Some of our favorites are the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds workouts, Winsor Pilates, or The Method‚- Dance to Fitness (this is a really fun one!).

Now get moving!
